Victoria Kelsey’s graphics background has brought a refreshing approach to the traditional sense of “still life” painting. Her vibrant use of color and bold composition has an energizing effect on the subject. The exaggerated scale of realistic rendering contrasts with graphic line to emphasize the natural, random qualities of these biomorphic forms. The resulted effect of Victoria’s paintings is both a feeling of contentment and energy. |

Marie-Danielle LeBlanc’s works evolve around materials - their contrast and their texture. Using raw pigments, tar, varnishes and resins as her primary source of inspiration – the artist exploits the beauty and emotion of these physical materials. She layers colours and textures that allow her to create landscapes that are seemingly captured in space. Marie-Danielle continues to explore these techniques that transform, otherwise simple landscapes into sacred sites. Her works in tones of ocres, browns, reds, greens and blues were initially inspired by scenes of her childhood – scenes of driving alongside her father in her native countryside of Quebec. Today, she continues to draw the same connection with landscape through her world-wide travels. Her works are a connection with who she is, and in every painting, we find one of her memories Her most recent body of work is an abstract imprint of her memories. From the most remote villages of Japan, to scenes of her own backyard – she manages to capture and interpret the richness, contrast and colour of everything that she sees. With an incredible ability to make us recall our deepest memories, she transports us back to a moment in our lives when we identified with nature and all its incredible beauty. Allow yourself to go on a journey...Enjoy! |

Ann Thinghuus‘s personal art philosophy emphasizes the development of profound, aesthetic, visual abstractions. Her paintings provide the viewer with the essence of visual stimulation and evoke feelings of warmth and subtle vivacity. Passion and vigor are captured through rich and vibrant colours which communicate depth onto the canvas. Her desire for unique artistic expression is expressed specifically through the layering of brushstrokes. In their final stages, her paintings become common ground, where the viewer meets canvas to provoke a full range of individual thoughts and perceptions. |
