Hmm...

“Hmm”, instinctively is the first thing one says when confronted with a piece of art which doesn’t immediately reveal its subject matter. I like to call it “abstractus-confundus”. These pieces will draw you in with their mystery as you go through the process of trying to “figure it out”. Some pieces are forever a riddle to be stared at and solved with so many possible answers; “it’s a face, no wait, it’s a landscape, no it IS a face!” Other pieces start making sense with a little investigating into the artist themselves. 

The artists involved in Art Works Gallery‘s Hmm…: an abstract exhibition create a full-spectrum of abstracted images; some using more minimal approaches like colour field, while others delve into more intricate styles such as cubism. Participating artists include Bill Bragg, Marie-Danielle Leblanc, Riyadh Hashim, Zohar and many more.
